Gazprom’s Gaz Capital made a coupon payment on its outstanding €560.3mn bonds due 2023 as per a statement. Bloomberg notes that Gazprom earlier cancelled €439.7mn worth of notes by issuing “substitute” domestic bonds. Separately, a Swedish arbitration court has ordered Finnish state-owned energy company Gasum to pay Gazprom over €300mn ($310mn) for late payment on gas supplies, as well as delayed interest, saying that this relates to the nonfulfillment of Gasum’s ‘take or pay’ obligation.
Gazprom’s dollar bonds have been on an upward trend in recent months. For example, its 3.25% 2030s have rallied over 56% from 31 cents to 70.76 cents on the dollar
