Singapore based Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT) raised S$310.4mn ($234mn) via a non-renounceable preferential offering. About 117.6mn new units were issued at S$2.64/unit. In addition to raising S$512.9mn ($385mn) from a private placement last month, combined gross proceeds from the issuances are S$823.3mn ($618mn). 88.2% of the proceeds will be used to finance a $1.32bn acquisition of 29 data centres in the US, 7.6% will be used to repay debt and the balance to cover fees and expenses incurred from the transaction, for future acquisitions and general working capital purposes. MIT’s sponsor, Mapletree Investments, held a 27.5% stake through its wholly-owned subsidiaries before the fundraising and would now hold 25.5% after the new units are listed.
MIT’s 3.15% SGD Perp was flat at 100.7 yielding 2.99% on the secondary markets.
