Pemex is said to currently owe local and foreign companies about MXN 297bn ($17.22bn) as of end-September. Companies like Amexhi said to the government that Pemex’s reluctance to pay may hurt production and existing projects. Another company, Amespac said that it asked Pemex to pay at least some of what it owed its members by December 15. Pemex said in October that it owed Halliburton ~$529mn, SLB $474mn and Baker Hughes $311mn. Pemex also disclosed invoices payable for more than MXN 96bn ($5.6bn). Analysts have sounded caution on Pemex’s obligation to its suppliers.
Pemex’s dollar bonds were trading stable with its 6.875% 2026s at 95.99, yielding 8.61%.
